SUSTAINABILITY Multi-Stakeholder Policy

Lawson, Inc. (hereinafter “the Company”) upholds the Group Philosophy of “Creating Happiness and Harmony in Our Communities,” and continues to evolve toward becoming the hub of refreshment in every community that supports the daily lives of people living in those communities by responding to changes in society. To realize this, we recognize that value co-creation with a diverse range of stakeholders—including customers, franchise store owners, store crews, suppliers, employees, shareholders, and local communities—is essential, and we are committed to appropriate collaboration with multiple stakeholders. Furthermore, recognizing that appropriately distributing profits and outcomes generated through value co-creation and productivity improvements to multiple stakeholders is crucial for maintaining wage growth momentum and fostering sustainable economic development, we will advance the following initiatives, prioritizing employee rewards and consideration for our suppliers.

  1. 1. Return to Employees

The Company regards employees as human capital—the most important resource in realizing community well-being and highly productive stores, and aims to achieve the Group Philosophy and vision by enhancing human capital. Through focused investment of management resources in growth areas, as well as employee capability development and skill enhancement, we pursue sustainable growth and productivity improvement, with emphasis on maximizing added value. Based on the profits and results thus generated, we will not only implement wage increases in appropriate ways that take into account social conditions and the Company’s circumstances, but also work proactively on comprehensive improvements in treatment—such as enhancing training opportunities—in order to raise employee engagement and further improve productivity, thereby ensuring sustainable returns to employees.

    (Individual items)
Specifically, regarding wage increases, we will conduct continuous dialogue and labor-management consultations with the labor union, and carry out wage improvements reflecting economic conditions and our business situation. In addition, as part of comprehensive improvements in treatment, we will enhance workstyle-related systems and promote DE&I. For education and training, in addition to company-led training programs, we will provide continuous and systematic support to all employees, incorporating the perspective of reskilling, through strengthening e-learning systems, offering self-entry training programs, and expanding self-development support systems, thereby promoting development of human resources.
  2. 2. Consideration toward Suppliers

The Company will continue to comply with the commitments of the Declaration of Partnership Building.
If, however, publication on the Declaration of Partnership Building portal site is discontinued, we will voluntarily withdraw the public disclosure of this Multi-Stakeholder Policy.

  3. 3. Other Stakeholder Initiatives

The Company identifies customers, franchise store owners, store crews, suppliers, employees, shareholders, and local communities as the primary stakeholders of the Lawson Group who have significant influence on our business activities. We actively engage in dialogue with them and strive to sincerely respond to their opinions, requests, and concerns. We have also compiled the expected conduct of employees into the Corporate Conduct Charter and the Code of Ethics and ensure thorough compliance.

We will continue to steadily implement initiatives while reviewing the progress of these activities.
