Total sales for all stores in July 2011 amounted to 174,885 million yen, an increase of 112.8% year on year. Consolidated net sales for existing stores increased by 109.5% yoy. Average daily sales per store (all stores) amounted to 590 thousand yen. The average number of customers per store (existing stores) was 983, an increase of 102.7% yoy, and average sales per customer (existing stores) increased by 106.6% yoy, to 580 yen.(Figures were taken from a preliminary report)

Consolidated existing-store sales in the Tohoku region increased by just over 20% yoy, driven by demand related to reconstruction following the earthquake and tsunami of March 2011.

Sales of cigarettes increased by about 132% yoy. Sales of other products were also robust, making strong yoy gains.

Sales in the rice and noodles category continued the sharp growth trajectory of the previous month, exceeding 100% yoy. In the noodle category in particular, sales of pasta remained strong, and sales of noodles increased by over 20%, as the hot summer weather contributed to a surge in sales of cold noodles.

Sales in the over-the-counter fast food category significantly outperformed the previous year, largely thanks to increased sales of "Karaagekun Tasty Nagoya Chicken Wings", the second phase of a promotional campaign that was rolled out in conjunction with the Japan "KARAAGE" Association.

In the beverage and ice cream category, the hot summer weather contributed to significant growth in yoy sales.

As of July 31, 2011, the LAWSON Group was comprised of 10,153 stores in Japan, including 91 NATURAL LAWSON stores and 1,097 LAWSON STORE 100 stores.

Existing store sales of Ninety-nine Plus Inc. amounted to 102.3% of the previous year (number of customers: 100.5%, sales per customer: 101.8%).

In July, Ninety-nine Plus Inc. operated 1,097 stores out of which 13 stores opened and no store closed .

Lawson is holding a Hello Kitty Fair from July 5 to August 29, 2011.
