Lawson, Inc. (Head Office: Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo; President and CEO, Representative Director: Genichi Tamatsuka) and Puregold Price Club, Inc. (Head Office: Manila 1007, Philippines; President: Leonardo B. Dayao) have set to open the first LAWSON Store in the Philippines on March 30th in Sta. Ana, Manila.
PG Lawson, Inc., a joint venture company between Lawson Asia Pacific Holdings Ptd. Ltd and Puregold Price Club, Inc. has a plan to open fifty stores in 2015 after having the experience to see the local customers' need through the first store in Manila. As a long term vision, we have set a target of rolling out 500 convenience stores in the Philippines by 2020. It is the fifth country to open LAWSON store in overseas after China, Indonesia, the United States, and Thailand.
Under the partnership, Lawson will provide its expertise in convenience store know-how and product development while Puregold will provide its expertise in product procurement and localized knowledge of the retail consumers. We are going to meet the local demand by operating LAWSON stores in the Philippines.
