The sales result of LAWSON Business (LAWSON and NATURAL LAWSON) in January is as follows*1.
Existing-store sales (excluding ticket and gift card sales etc.) increased 2.2% year on year over the same period and the average number of customers per store increased 0.4% and the average customer spend rose 1.8% year on year.

The Lawson Group operated 14,728 convenience stores in Japan at the end of January 2022, including 136 NATURAL LAWSON stores and 669 LAWSON STORE 100 stores.
We have been refurbishing existing stores as part of the measure of Lawson Group Sweeping Transformation Executive Committee, and the sales of the refurbished stores have increased. We refurbished 974 stores in January, and the total of refurbished stores were 3,029 at the end of January.

<Sales situation>
・Sales of frozen foods continued to grow due to strong sales of frozen desserts and frozen bakery products, in addition to the strong sales of ingredients and prepared foods that meet traditional stocking needs.
・In the "Machikado Chubo", an in-store cooking service, sales of the new product “Meat and Vegetable Bowl (Miso Pork)” and the standard product "Thick-cut Sangenton pork cutlet sandwich" were strong.
・Sales of rice products category were driven by chilled lunch boxes and rice balls.
・In over-the-counter fast food products, sales of Crispy Fried Chicken and Kara-age-kun (fried chicken nuggets), whose product lineup has been expanded, were strong.
・"GATEAU CHOCOLAT", launched in September 2021, improved the taste and launched a new flavor in January, and their sales have been favorable. The total sales of them surpassed 10 million units.
・In toys, sales of entertainment lottery tickets and trading cards were strong.
・We implemented "Demon Slayer" smartphone lottery campaign (January 12 - January 31), etc. as sales promotion measures.

Cigarette sales were a factor that pushed up existing-store sales in January by about 1.5 point year-on-year.
