The sales result of LAWSON Business (LAWSON and NATURAL LAWSON) in December is as follows*1.
Existing-store sales (excluding ticket and gift card sales etc.) increased 2.0% year on year over the same period and the average number of customers per store decreased 0.4% and the average customer spend rose 2.4% year on year.

The Lawson Group operated 14,711 convenience stores in Japan at the end of December 2021, including 136 NATURAL LAWSON stores and 669 LAWSON STORE 100 stores.


・Of the five categories in which we are strengthening our product lineup, sales of frozen foods, daily foods, Japanese and Western sweets, and alcohol continued to grow as a result of capturing demand in customers' daily lives.
・In the "Machikado Chubo", an in-store cooking service, sales of the new product "Beef Sukiyaki bowl" and the standard product " Thick-cut Sangenton pork cutlet sandwich" were strong.
・In bakery (sandwiches etc.) category, sales of the new coffee shop-style sandwich series and renewed standard products were strong.
・In over-the-counter fast food products, sales of the Golden Chicken series and Kara-age-kun (fried chicken nuggets), whose product lineup has been expanded, were strong.
・In toys, sales of entertainment lottery tickets and trading cards were strong.
・In sales promotion measures, two smartphone lottery campaigns featuring popular artists and a popular animation movie were implemented in December 7 to December 20 and December 21 to January 10.

Cigarette sales were a factor that pushed up existing-store sales in December by about 1.5 point year-on-year.
