Total sales at all stores in February 2013 amounted to 147,382 million yen, 97.4% of the same period last year. Consolidated net sales of existing stores were 95.7% of the same period last year.  Average daily sales per store (all stores) amounted to 509 thousand yen. The average number of customer per store (existing stores) was 825, 98.3% of the same period last year. The average spending per customer (existing stores) was 589 yen, 97.3% of the same period last year.

 

Existing stores sales by merchandise category were as follows.

 

Sales of over-the-counter fast food category exceeded the previous year’s amount thanks to favorable sales of delicatessen items and freshly-brewed coffee.

 

The delicatessen category exceeded the previous year’s amount. In particular, prepared food categories recorded a significant year-on-year growth. 

 

The perishable food category continued to experience significant sales growth thanks to the continued efforts to enhance the fresh food-type LAWSON stores. In addition, the sales of perishable food category, along with the sales of other related items, continued to exhibit a robust increase.

 

Sales of cigarettes continued to decline below the amount of a year ago just as it did last month.

 

Ticket sales of large-scale events was considered to be influenced by losing existing store sales year-on-year. Because there are no large-scale events in this February. The other way, ticket sales in last month (January) enhanced robustness of existing store sales.  The trend of existing store sales excluding ticket sales is no big changes in this several month. 

 

As of Feburary 28, 2013, the Lawson Group had 11,130 stores in Japan, including 110 NATURAL LAWSON stores and 1,224 LAWSON STORE100 stores.

 

Existing store sales of Ninety-nine Plus, Inc. amounted to 94.6% of same period last year (number of customers: 93.3%; spending per customer: 101.3%). In February, Ninety-nine Plus, Inc. opened 8 stores and closed one store.

 

Lawson is running "the Spring Rirrakuma Fair" from February 26, 2013 to June 10, 2013.
